Fishing Report for Week Ending: May 12, 2008

Fishermen and women had a great time fishing at Convict Lake Resort this week.
Our visitors were treated to a steady stream of medium and large size Rainbows, plus a good number of nice sized stringers were observed. A number of fish in the 3lb-5lb range were brought into our General Store. Gerrett Wallace landed at nice 5 lb. 4 oz fish on the South Shore. Brett Bicksier used a Rainbow Rapalla to catch his 5 lb. 2 oz trout. A number of fishermen came by the store with impressive stringers. Early morning and late evening seem to favor. We did see some action off the jetty as well as the perennial favorites at the inlet and south shore. No report yet on depth and trolling action.
This past week Tim Alpers dropped 250 Rainbows in the 3lb weight class. Tim also reported that the County would be planting fish within the next week.
Weather conditions have been ideal. Other than a few hours of wind on a couple of days, it has been calm with sunny days and cool evenings.
